Troy P. Burleson
Troy P. Burleson is a founding partner of the Law Office of Duke Burleson & Associates. Mr. Burleson grew up in the piney woods of East Texas in his hometown of Mineola. An avid outdoorsman and athlete, Mr. Burleson earned a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Texas at Tyler. While in undergraduate college, Troy was a 4-year letterman in baseball.
After earning his degree from the University of Texas, Mr. Burleson attended law School at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas earning his Juris Doctor Degree in 2005.
While in law school, Mr. Burleson was an associate editor of law review after finishing in the top ten percent of his class. In addition to law review, Mr. Burleson competed in numerous national mock trial and moot court competitions while at SMU. Mr. Burleson competed against other law schools across the nation with great success winning a national championship and being named the top overall competitor at a national mock trial competition.
After law school, Mr. Burleson worked as a prosecutor in Collin County, Texas until leaving to form his own law office in 2006. Since 2006, Mr. Burleson has earned a reputation as one of the top trial attorneys in the state of Texas.
A veteran of over 500-jury trial, Mr. Burleson’s reputation as a talented, tough trial attorney ahs grown with every verdict he obtains for his clients. His trial skills have earned him numerous statewide and national recognitions. Including;
- A Top 40 Under 40 National Trial Lawyer (2011-2014)
- A Top 100 National Trial Lawyer (2015-2019)
- A Texas Rising Star Attorney (2010-2015)
- A Texas Super Super Lawyer (2016-2019)
Mr. Burleson earned his status as a Texas Super Lawyer at the youngest age in the awards history. The status of Texas Super Lawyer is given to attorneys by Texas Monthly magazine. The award is given based on votes from attorneys across the state of Texas and is given annually to less that 2% of attorneys who practice in Texas.
In addition to his awards, Mr. Burleson frequently lectures other attorneys across the state annually on trial technique and trial advocacy.
In his free time, Mr. Burleson is still a country boy at heart and loves spending time hunting with his wife Melissa and his two chocolate labs, Kimber and Ammo.
